To provide technical support for distribution partners across North America and Europe regions, working with the regional distribution team. This position acts as a bridge between Business Units and Disti Partners, assisting the Region Distribution Field-Application Engineers (FAE), Application Engineers (AE), and Sales teams in developing custom designs utilizing Qualcomm platforms.
Reporting: The FAM reports directly to the Vice President of Global Distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive technical enablement to support Distribution FAE/AE and Sales in launching new products and resolving customer issues related to Qualcomm platform designs.
- Develop ecosystem partner strategies aligned with distribution partners to create complementary solutions.
- Develop certification programs for FAEs
- Organize and conduct Tech days, hands-on training sessions, and demonstrations for distribution partners and customers, as needed.
- Responsible for creating and operationalizing the Training Calendar
- Deliver comprehensive Qualcomm product training sessions to distribution FAE, AE, and Sales teams, supported by the Customer Engineering (CE) team.
- Conduct competitive product analysis and author white papers to highlight the advantages of Qualcomm products, supporting distribution efforts.
- Collaborate with the Business Unit to develop solution architectures for key applications.
- Responsible to maintain and provide exhaustive market intelligence on competition.
- Support evaluation of opportunities with distribution partners, on technical aspects to win.
- Engage with the Business Unit on roadmap inputs, technical documentation, new product launches, training for distribution resources, and provide feedback on existing products.
- Collaborate with internal and external sales and marketing teams to support lead generation activities.
- Closely works with Developers to promote awareness of focus segments, applications, successful projects, and cross-regional success stories.
- Achieve proficiency in using internal sales tools (CRM, social media, and other engagement platforms) to remain organized, optimize partner interactions, and routinely report on key performance metrics.
- Key KPI is to drive better conversion of opportunities, through Technical guidance and knowledge.
- Work collaboratively, teaming with the Customer Engineering team, for supporting Disti Partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication is required. A Master’s degree is considered as added advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Global experience is preferred.
- More than seven years of experience in a Design Engineer/Field Application Engineer (FAE) role within the semiconductor industry working at a Semiconductor OEM or at a leading Distributor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive field application experience, with the ability to deliver compelling value propositions to customers based on the Qualcomm product portfolio to secure design wins.
- Technical expertise in MPU, MCU, Solutions, Software, cellular and communication technologies, both at chip (CoB) and module level.
- Understanding of AI applications that drive usecases on Edge Intelligence
- Thorough understanding of Developer world and Industry best practices for engaging with Developers
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Creative problem-solving skills combined with strong technical and analytical acumen.
- Proficient in delivering technical training sessions to large groups.
- Proven success working with cross-functional teams.
Preferred candidates from: Intel, NXP, TI, AMD (Xilinx), NVIDIA etc. working in distribution will be an added advantage. Distributors-Global or local. Module makers.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$184,800.00 - $277,200.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
