A ResMed engineering team is advancing digital solutions to manage, monitor, and support patients' health needs in over 140 countries. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test with experience in testing, programming, and AWS cloud services to join our Test Engineering team in San Diego. Your skills in testing, design, and software development are essential for transforming our platform and device data into a digital health services platform that promotes and supports healthy lives for our patients. You will work closely with product managers, developers, operations, and other software team members to create high-quality products that meet the needs of our clients and operators.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities

  • The main goal of the Test Engineering specialization within the Engineering Ops team is to verify and validate the end-to-end system and design of all new products during the product development phase, ensuring they are ready for release.
  • It is also responsible for designing and automating effective test methodologies and instrumentation to ensure designs meet specifications and user needs.
  • Develops test strategies and analyzes results using technology, automation, and data analytics to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Leads a cooperative effort among project team members.
  • Works independently, with minimal guidance only in the most complex situations.
  • Frequently leads sub-functional teams or projects and trains and mentors junior team members.
  • Serves as a best practice resource within their area of work.
  • Enhance tools/applications for the current test automation framework by applying innovative state-of-the-art software development framework and appropriate processes and practices.
  • Support Production releases.
  • Hands on leadership – Driving efficiency, capability growth and best practice within the team.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Proven track record in team leadership, individual development, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficient in software architecture and frameworks – Java, MicroServices, Spring, kubernetes, docker
  • Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases, particularly MongoDB and SQL Server, is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of cloud networking concepts.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning methodologies is highly valued.
  • Experience with cloud services, including AWS.
  • Applies functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems or execute specialized projects.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Computer Science, Engineering, Science degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience in Machine Learning methodologies with hands on experience, such as, classifications, regressions, forecasts and unsupervised learning is a bonus.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $138,000 - $173,000 USD.
