Job Overview:

The SVP, Divisional Director, Liquidity & Capital role is part of LPL’s Field Management leadership team. Field Management provides end-to-end leadership support to advisors and staff through managing personnel, practices, and properties to drive outsized growth and satisfaction. As part of the Field Management team, you will have the opportunity to directly live out LPL’s mission: We take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.

As an SVP, Divisional Director, Liquidity & Capital, your primary focus will be creating/leading a unified community of branches (typically, spanning 15 -20 states) along with the Regional Branch Managers and financial advisors/teams within that footprint. Your mandate includes setting the strategic direction for the division, with the ultimate goal of driving profitability and delivering outsized recruiting/retention and growth. The successful leader will have a comprehensive understanding of the wealth management business (both the employee and independent advisor models) and an aptitude for creating and leading a thriving growth culture.

Additionally, you will help further the development of Liquidity & Capital by providing key leadership insights and supporting the implementation of frameworks that increase ease of doing business and promote advisor growth and satisfaction. Not only will you be a key advocate for our advisors (and our business strategy) across the organization, but also an ambassador of the LPL brand in your division.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a group of Regional Branch Managers to drive advisor retention, satisfaction, and growth in their respective regions
  • Set the growth targets and associated sales plan for the division, achieve or exceed growth target by executing on sales plan
  • Strategize and execute on team and succession planning opportunities, including helping advisors understand their capital and/or liquidity options
  • Partner with Business Development and the Regional Branch Managers in recruiting advisors into the Liquidity and Capital group.
  • Manage the division’s P&L, and support the expansion of the division’s branch office footprint
  • Oversee acclimation for recruits/new teams before shifting long-term focus to growth enablement (i.e., talent management, training, succession planning)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services and/or wealth management industry
  • Experience in branch leadership (managing multiple offices); home office leadership strongly preferred
  • Experience being a people leader to advisors as well as home office and/or field staff
  • Track record for successfully bringing on and integrating recruits/new teams
  • FINRA Series 7, 9/10 and 66 (or equivalent)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to balance the need to build trust/respect amongst your advisors with the need to maintain the integrity of the business vertical
  • Highly strategic thinker with strong business acumen; capable of assessing complex problems, prioritizing key issues, and focusing on relevant facts while maintaining a strong execution focus
  • Executive presence with a demonstrated ability to lead change and influence at all levels; recognized throughout the organization as a subject matter expert on the Liquidity and Capital group
  • Ability to monitor and adapt, if needed, to industry dynamics, best practices, and trends
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, visiting branch offices and participating in recruit meetings

Target Total Compensation: $450,000-$600,000

Pay Range:

$233,600.00 - $389,300.00


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
