The CoreDarwin release operations team (CoreOS organization) seeks an outcome-driven engineer with a passion for operating system quality engineering and a talent for solving technical challenges. You will work on Apple’s internal tools and frameworks to support the pre-submission workflow. You will collaborate with QA, developers, and other cross-functional teams to automate workflows, triage regression, and contribute to the overall quality of our software products. The candidate will drive significant impact by working on successful, large-volume consumer products, with a particular focus on upcoming products. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills and a deep interest in software quality.
Description
You will be part of the pre-submission release and QA team, contributing to Apple’s internal tooling/framework system and daily release operations. Daily optional responsibilities include software integration, bug triaging, data gathering, and reviewing test plans. In this role, you will be working closely with global teams solving quality engineering problems in a creative and effective manner. You must be motivated and prepared to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to investigate, debug and triage software regression
Demonstrated programming and scripting skills (Python preferred, Objective-C/C++/Swift)
Proficiency with iOS, macOS or other operating systems such as Unix/Linux
Excellent collaborative skills with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of professional experience as a Software Quality Engineer
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
