Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Data Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals who support the Air Vehicle (AV) Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) under the Triton program.

This role serves as a critical supporting member of the AV IPT leadership team by taking on the detailed tasks of investigating, compiling, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting cost, schedule and technical performance. This role requires skills in relating and reporting data from various data sources such as SAP S/4, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), SAP S/4 Production, Engineering and Operations (PEO), Teamcenter, eQube, SQL Server, or other large databases. The position requires direct interfacing with IPT leads, Program Managers, various engineering, technical and business team members as well as customers across various programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Compiles, analyzes, forecasts, manages, and reports project performance to IPT and/or Program leadership
  • Compiles and develops labor cost estimates with accompanying task descriptions for various disciplines under the AV IPT and provides to IPT, Functional Homeroom and Program leadership
  • Compiles, analyzes, forecasts labor requirements by discipline and reports to the IPT, Functional Homeroom and/or Program leadership for staffing purposes
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and objectives
  • Manages and tracks risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Manages and tracks proposed and approved engineering changes for the technical team
  • Prepares metrics and reports that add value to the engineering processes
  • Manages various data files in applicable formats and condition for repeatable data analytics and reporting
  • Facilitates various internal and external cost, schedule, and technical performance reviews and/or problem resolution discussions
  • Maps out processes and creates knowledge management repositories for sharing, coordinating, and facilitating closure of actions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of data analytics experience and/or Master's Degree with 3 years of data analytics experience
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Strong statistical and data visualization skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with fast-paced deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry experience
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in data mining SAP
  • Proficient in Visual Basic for Application (VBA)
  • Proficient in Python programming
  • Project Management certification (Agile or PMI)
  • Experience with Integrated Product Team (IPT) execution, program execution, proposals.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and Agile methodology
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (i.e., Atlassian product suite)

Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
