We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our talented wet lab automation engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development, strong background in system design, and ability to mentor junior engineers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality software solutions that automate assay workflows using Liquid Handling Robots. Responsibilities: Participate in all phases of software development from architecture/design through implementation, testing and deployment Develop software components that meet standards of quality and architecture, including the documentation and implementation of unit tests, scripts, and test harnesses Work with software teams to ensure alignment of architecture to user requirements Occasionally provide technical assistance to escalated production issues Key Qualifications: Excellent Java development and debugging skills Experience with database technologies (MSSQL, PostgreSQL) Experience with client-side MVC Frameworks (i.e., Angular, React) is a plus Deep understanding of SOA, web security architecture, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and other architectural patterns Experience with numerous aspects of DevOps, including source control, CI/CD and containerized deployment Extensive experience writing high quality unit tests against mock objects Good understanding of object oriented analysis and design Demonstrated success in collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established agile development methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.) against formal schedules Desired: Experience with C# Understanding of Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field of biology Possess proven troubleshooting skills Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks Have proven verbal and written communication skills Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Experience/Education: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. #LI-HYBRID The estimated base salary range for the Senior Software Engineer role based in the United States of America is: $126,800 - $190,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
