Job Overview:

The VP, Corporate Strategy will join the Strategy team at LPL Financial and:

  • Empower and develop a team of strategists that turns industry, competitive, and trend intelligence into tangible value for the organization,
  • Support the development of longer-term strategy at LPL Financial,
  • Develop collaborative and innovative business unit strategies as a part of the broader strategy.

To do so, the individual must have outstanding strategic thinking, presentation, and analytical skills.

The successful candidate has illustrated strong business acumen and can quickly understand the most critical elements of any industry or business, but also understand the nuances of the financial services industry. Experience with consulting firms, executive facilitation, and solving unstructured problems in an iterative, hypothesis-driven, “answer first” way are pluses.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating the strategic framing for market positioning, capability differentiation, and investment sequencing for the organization.
  • Empower the firm’s leadership to develop perspectives and make key decisions regarding cross-firm business strategies.
  • Leverage the organization to develop detailed strategic options in response to identified growth opportunities, industry disruptions, competitor intelligence and/or organizational goals.
  • Guide the analysis of internal and external data to bolster the strategic point of view.
  • Establish a collaborative environment at all levels of the organization that creates better input into the strategy development process, and better alignment by communicating strategic decisions and outcomes.
  • Planning and execution leadership for key strategic projects that span across business units and stakeholders.
  • Manage and nurture team to create leading strategy talent

Requirements:

  • Strong strategy expertise
  • Execution experience: The ability to turn data into insights, decisions, and actions
  • Entrepreneurial perspective, grounded in tangible outcomes. Experience in startups is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate business opportunities within the context of a larger organization and its objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to create concise content for C-suite leadership / Board of Directors, and the ability to frame complex issues visually.

Preferences:

  • 10+ years professional experience, and top tier consulting firm experience / and/or top tier undergraduate / MBA degree preferred.
  • Results oriented and outcome based
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Project management / multi-tasking skills across different projects

Pay Range:


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
