SUMMARY
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Americas Accounting team. The successful candidate enjoys working in a growth-oriented environment with exposure to US GAAP. The role will be responsible for overseeing the accounting for banking activities, leases, employee benefits, and other general accounting tasks. This includes ensuring the accuracy of cash receipts, analysis of banking transactions and FX exposure accounting, internal reporting, ASC 842 lease accounting, journal entries related to daily cash management activities such as intercompany wires, AP payments, interest receipts, various banking fees, and employee payroll benefits expenses. This role will also include collaborating with the US Treasury, Credit and Collections, AP, and Employee Benefits teams on cross functional processes and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum requirements, which may evolve with the developing needs of the organization:
- Participates in daily month-end close meetings focused on ensuring accuracy of financial statements and trend analysis.
- Contribute to a continuous process improvement environment, including review of tasks, processes, and workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinates with the Regional Treasury Manager, Senior and Staff Accountants to prepare and verify the accuracy of all cash account reconciliations, including accurate accounting for FX gains and losses.
- Monitor cash transactions for multiple operating and depository accounts across various financial institutes.
- Journalize all cash transactions related to intercompany transfers and loans, interest, banking and merchant fees, employee stock related benefits, and other non-recurring transactions.
- Reconcile all cash accounts and related equity and accrual accounts.
- Works closely with the Credit and Collections team to assist with cash receipts analysis.
- Works closely with the Accounts Payables team to reconcile AP transactions.
- Prepares and reconciles journals and accounts related to employee benefits including medical insurance benefit accruals and actuals, HSA funding, FSA funding, and 401K.
- Prepares and reconciles journals related to ASC 842 real estate and equipment lease accounting, including working with the business and consolidations team to identify and report new lease agreements and updating the CoStar lease management system for new leases.
- Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned based on the necessity of the business.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- B.S. in Accounting or related (i.e., business administration or finance)
- 3-7 years of accounting-related work experience.
SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Passion to partner with cross-functional teams to improve efficiencies through use of automation and technology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize deadlines.
- The highest ethical standards are required for the appropriate execution of duties.
- Self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to drive results.
- Adaptable in using their organizational skills to prioritize tasks and is opportunistic in taking ownership of various projects.
- Strong knowledge of cash management, banking, reconciliations, T-accounts, and general accounting.
- Sense of teamwork to communicate with other members of the department/organization to complete assignments on time and accurately.
- Resourceful and creative in their problem-solving to effectively address the needs of the business.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial ERP systems, preferably Netsuite and Oracle R12.
