Proposed Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 5:30pm

Sound good? (We think so, too!) Here’s what you would do:

  • Responsible for working with the Skatepark Director to develop, implement, and evaluate all Skatepark Programs
  • Understand and have working knowledge of all functions and programs of the Skatepark
  • Maintain proper cleanliness on and around the office area, provide office with adequate supplies
  • Maintain updated forms
  • Work to assist in helping the team reach goals of membership service and sales
  • Identify, document and solve problems that will assist the Skatepark to become more efficient and member friendly
  • Provide assistance and coordination to membership promotional and community events as scheduled
  • Responsible for working with Skatepark Director in ongoing upkeep and maintenance of the facilities, and communicating to our maintenance department the needs of the Skatepark
  • Provide support and directly supervise staff on duty during shift Hours
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, recognize, and empower all staff to ensure proper customer service is provided to members
  • Conduct meetings with Skatepark Director and staff to ensure communication, problem solving and planning is smooth. Attend quarterly all-staff meetings, child abuse awareness and risk management trainings
  • Ensure that all staff maintains current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Assist staff with shift coverage/substitutions
  • Create a safe and fun skate environment

“OK, I’m sold!” What do I need to qualify?

  • Minimum 2+ year's customer service experience or equivalent
  • Minimum 1+ years' of experience supervising a staff team
  • Minimum 2+ year's of experience working in the Action Sports field
  • Knowledge of Action Sports industry and understanding of various Action Sports cultures
  • Must be computer literate
  • The physical ability to interact and lead group activities and to perform related physical skill
  • Ability to adequately observe program activities and the ability to enforce safety standards and regulations while applying policies and procedures as approved by the YMCA of San Diego County
  • CPR/AED and First Aid, both Adult & Infant/Child, certified within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following:
    • American Red Cross
    • American Heart Association
    • American Safety & Health Institute
