This position will lead the Regional Project Execution function for the Americas and provide leadership in the execution of construction projects, including risk and change management and turnover coordination with the Facility Operations team. The role is responsible for leading a team of multi-site professionals focused on construction project execution, vendor management, and financial control of projects with multiple scales and delivery methods in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate for this role has proven people leadership ability and can identify and resolve issues resourcefully and independently, to achieve business drivers. This person will work to train and mentor their team to create optimal solutions meeting business and infrastructure needs. Responsibilities Build, coach, and manage a diverse staff who works in a highly team-based, cross-functional and results-oriented fashion, Develop and coach direct reports through professional development and performance management planning, Create and review team training plans to ensure adherence to role requirements, Partner closely with Leadership to align the project execution strategies to support business initiatives, Direct construction management activities including capital expense planning and forecasting, project scheduling, escalation and change, risk review, and potential dispute resolution, Be accountable for team’s project budget and schedule adherence, Review and approve team’s document distribution to stakeholders, contractors and other related vendors, Prepare, present, and distribute project status reports including internal cost control documentation, and financial accrual reporting, Oversees procurement and contracting, construction management, commissioning and qualification, and site readiness efforts, Responsible to ensure that projects are safe, of high quality, are completed on schedule and remain within budget, Responsible to ensure construction deliverables comply with all Internal EHS standards, and all Compliance and Validation needs per the Illumina Quality Management System, Coordinate with Facilities Operations and Services Management to ensure efficient and timely turnover of space for effective operation, Maintain landlord and property management relationships, participate in lease negotiations for acquisitions, renewals or lease terminations, Maintain relationship with local municipal authorities for project review and permitting, Participate the creation of construction execution and project management standards, Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or other related discipline required. Minimum of 8 years of related experience, with 1-3 years of people management experience. And a minimum of 2 years of project management experience working in the construction industry required. Experience on the Facility Owner or occupant side of construction management is preferred. Must understand principles and practices of construction and contract administration, architectural and engineering disciplines, Validation and Change Control, General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of projects. Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications, cost estimates, and schedules, Must be able to drive results, managing time and business priority, and performing within required deadlines with minimal direction from direct manager, Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking problem-solving skills, Demonstrated strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to deliver results, and build trust, Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, Ability to participate in complex meetings with multiple attendees, and work collaboratively to identify and resolve complex issues, The estimated base salary range for the Manager, Construction Execution role based in the United States of America is: $115,800 - $173,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
